Cynth Weyman

Contemporary Intaglio Strati textile reliefs from my traditional watercolour paintings.   Themed artworks of Patterns in Nature; Figurative stories; Rivers; Castles; Rocks, Landscapes & Seascapes, lead to me creating even more artworks inspired by my visitors ideas and interpretations.   Initially, water-colour paintings are created. Some are transformed into my own Intaglio Strati Textile Relief technique for art quilts or framed panels – akin to stained glass in style.   Using 10-18 layers of luscious Indian silks and cotton fabrics gathered on my travels, I stitch them together. Selected colours cut away reveal dramatic stories. Hand embroidery enhances atmosphere or mood. Many artworks take 6-16 weeks to create. Commissions welcome.   One image develops into another. Selected artworks are re-designed and painted to create a semi-abstract or surrealistic picture. Lots of fun, energy, experimentation, careful planning and surprises – a magical process.   How does a tree root become a character? How does a rock become a ‘Rock Woman & Man’ collection. All will be revealed in demonstrations and tours during your visit.   Reproduction Giclee prints, cards and ‘my posh silk scarves’ are available too.   Hapus i Siarad Cymraeg hefyd. Welcome/Croeso
